The romantic comedy ‘You, Me & Tuscany,’ featuring Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page, arrives on streaming this week following a muted box office performance. Opening April 10, the PG-13 film grossed just $21.5 million worldwide against an $18 million production budget, leaving Universal Studios to recoup costs via home entertainment. Bailey stars as Anna, an American who impulsively travels to Italy, accidentally crashes a villa, and is mistaken for a fiancée, only to discover romantic chemistry with Michael, played by Page. Directed by Kat Coiro, the movie will be available for digital purchase on PVOD for $24.99 and rental for $19.99 starting Tuesday, May 12. A Blu-ray and DVD release is also slated for June 16, offering bonus content.

Despitecritical praise for the film,You, Me & Tuscanyearned only $7.7 million from 3,151 North American theaters in its opening weekend for a fourth-place finish domestically. Through Friday, the film had earned $18.6 million in domestic ticket sales and $2.9 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $21.5 million.

You, Me & Tuscanyentered its fifth weekend in theaters on Friday in only 87 venues domestically, down from 563 theaters the week before. The film’s streaming release date falls in line with Universal Pictures new policy of keeping its films in theaters for at least five weekends before releasing them on digital streaming.
